From the Scottish dialect, "lang" can mean "long"
[a] measuring a great distance from one end to the other
[b] having a great period of time from the first moment to the last
[c] measuring a certain amount in distance or time
For the past five years I have thrown myself into building a small local catering business which I have absolutely loved. I am still in awe of how quickly it blossomed from a love of feeding people into a full time career. From Halloween candy boards to the most special of unions and everything in between I have poured so much love into your food.
There has been a lot of life lived in these last five years. More changes, challenges and surprises than I can keep up with; actually I could say that about my life in general. Nothing is as I had imagined it would be but then is it ever? I have always tried to embrace the crooked paths (most of which I have admittedly put myself on) with determination to do better, be better and learn a valuable life lesson along the way.
My love for writing runs as deep as my love for cooking. Each one is a form of storytelling and connecting with others. I am sharing a part of myself; whether it is through recipes, meals, memories or life experiences with others hoping it reaches someone as a way of inspiration or encouragement. Both are deeply personal to me and wanted to bring the two together.
The Lang is a way that I can share the things I am most passionate about; it is more than just a collection of posts. It is a place to document what I love; to slow down and savor the details, to honor both the simple and significant.
For the love of family and food,
P.
